The community feed and direct messages
There are two different places to talk to people.
Community is the shared feed. Post a win, ask a question, react and reply to other members. Everyone in the community sees it.
Messages is private — direct messages to one member or a small group. Start one from a member's profile or from Messages itself.
You can block a member, which stops them messaging you, and they are not told. If someone is behaving badly, report the post or message and an admin will look at it.
Your own profile controls what other members can see about you — that is under You → Profile, and each section has its own visibility setting.
